Gore Verbinski

An award-winning commercials director, Verbinski made his feature film debut with Mouse Hunt starring Nathan Lane.

He followed it up with the romantic action comedy The Mexican, starring Julia Roberts, Brad Pitt and James Gandolfini.

Verbinski graduated from the University College of Los Angeles in 1987 and started his film career directing music videos.

His award-winning commercials include Nike's 100ft Hoop featuring Michael Jordan and the first of the popular Budweiser "Frog" adverts.

In addition, he directed commercials for brands such as Coca Cola, 7-Up and United Airlines.

Recent film work includes the American version of the Japanese cult horror classic The Ring and Pirates of the Caribbean, based on the Disney theme park ride.
