Dying from brain cancer, Scots lass Sarah (Valerie Edmond) leaves New York and returns to her native land, where she cheers up her father and 'borrows' her former lover (Gerard Butler) from his wife. This may sound poignant but it's not. The film Vadim Jean has turned in is a miserable, whingeing thing that never touches the emotions and only makes you think that the 'heroine', thinking of flinging herself from the Empire State Building at the start, should have done it and saved us the trouble of sitting through this. Pretty dreadful.
