A family outing for the Sheen family, this is a pacy, if hollow action thriller co-written by Charlie, who also stars with his father, Martin, and uncle (Joe Estevez). Charlie gives himself the plum role as the renegade cop hero, and, oddly enough, Martin plays his dad, another cop! While a lot of it is the standard cops-against-the-evil-drug-gang plot, and pretty thinly stretched at that, there are a few different touches, such as one of the bad guys being a girl (Tina Nguyen), though three others are blokes - Joe Lando, Bruce Nelson and Courtney Gains. The plot also finds room for third-billed kick-boxing star Mark Dacascos, as Charlie's cop partner, though he's upstaged by the showy Sheens, who manage to shine even in this dross. Dreadfully formulaic, and not honestly much cop, but maybe just about okay for die-hard action fans, who presumably won't object to the strong violence, bad language and drug content.
