Director Wang, whose fortunes have of late been on the Wayne, here attempts a sort of Last Tango in San Francisco. A businessman (Peter Sarsgaard, not destined to be a megastar) hires a stripper (Molly Parker, a bony Canadian who takes her clothes off in most anything she's in) for a week or so of unconsummated sex for £10,000. The rest of the film, shot on video with hand-held cameras, consists of the stars having well, unconsummated sex - until the end when they do it for real. Full of giant close-ups of faces, lips and hands, this is boring stuff, unrelieved by any semblance of plot.
