This is certainly one of Jet Li's best movies, all chases, shootings and kung-fu fighting. Li plays multiple roles - as a cop, a Death Row inmate and a megalomaniac set on destroying the other versions of himself in scores of parallel worlds. Cop Li is the last intended victim, after which psycho Li will become 'The One'. The plot's confusing and there's little tension, since much of the time you don't know what the heck's going on. But there's a lot of fantastic bone-cracking combat and bullet-dodging in the finest Hong Kong thriller tradition. Spot the movie directors in the names of some of the characters, e. g. Siegel, Aldrich and Besson.
