Sometimes the simplest stories are the most effective, and this old-fashioned adventure is a fine example. Barry Pepper gives a memorable performance as a self-centred war veteran-turned-bush pilot who agrees to fly a sickly young Inuit woman (Annabella Piugattuk) to hospital. When his plane crashes, leaving them stranded in Canada's arctic tundra and unlikely to be rescued, a bond develops between these two people from different cultures as they struggle to overcome the elements. There are few surprises, but it's a poignant, moving journey and the scenery is hauntingly beautiful. Worth a look.
