Night at the Museum
Ben Stiller plays a single dad and museum nightwatchman who finds his graveyard shift anything but peaceful when the artefacts - ranging from a dinosaur skeleton to an army of toy soldiers - come alive and run riot through the corridors. Ricky Gervais plays the stuffy curator and Steve Coogan a mini Roman centurion with anger management issues in this visually impressive kids' movie from Cheaper By The Dozen director Shawn Levy.
Stiller...Wilson...Williams...Gervais...Coogan...Rudd...without doubt the best comedy line up of the last decade. So you have to wonder why Fox gave the reigns to Shawn Levy, of Cheaper By The Dozen and Pink Panther 'fame'. The film needed to play on the audience's childish side, while letting the actors shine in their respective roles. What we hvae instead is an average PG film, with no laughs or special performances. Yet another nail in Levy's comedy film career's coffin.

i thought this film was absolutely fab.

I really enjoyed this film. Ok so it wasn't side splitting roll about on the floor funny but it raised the odd smirk. Its nice to see a film that has a good plot and keeps you entertained. A christmas TV movie for sure.

Watching the advert I was so excited. I waited eagerly for a fantastic movie to make me absolutly wet my self! I mean Ricky Gervais, Robin Williams, Ben Stiller! I couldn't think of any a funnier combination myself. My favourite band even wrote the song for the credits! When I finally saw it I was sat in a packed cinema of screaming kids and thought to myself, "how did it go so wrong". It had all the ingredients, it seemed genius. But I was extremly disappointed. It wasn't remotely funny.

This is a brilliant action comedy. I couldn't stop laughing.

Forget all the other reviews, if you want to see a good family fun-packed movie then this is for you. The only disappointment for me was Ricky Gervais's wasted character. Ben Stiller is brilliant and the kids will love it. This will be a Christmas Day Tv Movie Classic for years to come so sit back and enjoy.

I agree with the other reviewers - a movie with such a great cast should have produced a funnier movie. Aimed for a family audience there is that many angles for adult humour used in other family movies that could have well have been well exploited here and used the cast to their full potential. But nevertherless a still enjoyable movie with funny moments that the kids will definitely find funny but the parents not as much as they thought they would. Still worth checking out.

I thought it was funny, and had a great father and son storyline.

Great cast....rubbish film unfortunately. It just wasn't funny. I'm a fan of Ben Stiller but he is very disappointing in this. Don't waste your money going to see this.
