Brando: Riches To Rags
The Godfather survives on a pittanceOne of the world's most revered actors, Marlon Brando, is crying poverty, according to the Daily Mail.
It was widely thought that the robust actor could command $1m (£633,000) for a cameo appearance in a movie.
But the 78-year-old actor claims his financial situation is dire.
Brando was recently sued for $100m (£63m) by his former lover and mother of three of his children, Maria Christina Ruiz.
He claims he does not have enough money to cough up.
Ruiz claims that Brando reneged his offer to support her and the children.
Court documents reveal that Brando's income is so limited that he had to sell his private island near Tahiti and mortgage his mansion.
It was reported that his monthly income is a paltry £3,8000 from a pension and £1,170 a month in social security.
Brando claims he was paid only £31,600 for his role in The Godfather.
