Documentary-style thriller based on the actual case of a reporter who ferreted around until he found out the truth about a 12-year-old murder case. Absorbing every step of the way - thanks to Henry Hathaway's pacy direction of an incident-filled script and another very fine performance from James Stewart - right up to the final agonising attempts to prove the innocence of the man sent down for a murder he didn't commit. Great cinema.

Brilliant & totally absorbing, a must for your DVD collection. Slow in parts compared to modern multi-million pound spectaculars but far superior to anything made-for-TV and most of this and previous years' movie releases.
