Though it's no great shakes, this is such a sweet comedy idea, it's hard to resist. It posits the idea that Jack Carson is such an awful ham that no-one at the studio will act in the same picture - the cue for lots of guest stars and even directors. All this plus songs from the then up-and-coming Doris Day. One of the biggest stars in cameo roles is the guy playing Day's hometown boyfriend in the last reel.
