In this engaging, richly-coloured and easy-going comedy western, James Stewart plays an an ageing cowhand who acquires a fanatical belief in the potential of one Hereford breed bull, brought to America by prissy Englishwoman Maureen O'Hara. Stewart's stalwart turn is ideally matched by Brian Keith's red-bearded, extravagantly Scots-accented rancher, Jack Elam's villain sticks in the mind long after he is suddenly killed off, and Ben Johnson and Harry Carey Jr provide other good reasons to watch. Filmed in the Mojave Desert, California.
