This delightful light comedy has enough variations on the eternal triangle theme to make it different, coupled with fine performances to keep it fresh, even after 50-odd years. Hedy Lamarr is a refugee having an affair with wealthy publisher Ian Hunter (who's married, of course). But the threat of deportation means she's got to find a husband, and quick. Enter struggling writer James Stewart. He agrees to a marriage of convenience but, of course, falls for Hedy (who wouldn't? ). Inspired by his unsual situation, he writes a novel. Guess which publisher he sends it to... The sparks fly from the well-matched Stewart and Lamarr and make this film a lot of fun.
