US Navy officer William Holden, haunted by his superior's death in World War Two, is sent to serve in the Korean War. He gives a stalwart performance in an uneven but acceptable minor war film with too much dull talk between the exciting stretches. Nancy Olson (who co-starred with Holden in several films) and William Bendix help things along as Holden's sweetheart and his petty officer. .
