Lana Turner plays a rich girl looking for someone who doesn't love her just for her money in this bright and breezy musical. John Lund is her boring boyfriend who does at least have the benefit of being richer than she. When Lund flies down to Rio on business she follows, hoping the latin atmosphere may fire his ardour. But instead she meets rich latin smoothie Ricardo Montalban. If not in the top rank of MGM musicals, this is at least great fun and very colourful. Turner looks gorgeous and Montalban handsome. Look out for Rita Moreno in a small role before West Side Story shot her to stardom.
