This Columbo outing was actually written and executive produced by its star, Peter Falk, and quite an ingenious little thriller it is. The murderer uses an electric blanket wrapped around the victim's body to confuse police and the coroner about the time of death. Then the crumpled detective starts to fall for the flirtatious, high cheek-boned charms of his chief suspect, played by Faye Dunaway. What would `her indoors', the oft-spoken about but never seen Mrs Columbo, think of that? !
