An efficient British crime thriller that was pretty brutal in its day, but suffers from momentary lapses into silliness. Trevor Howard is the RAF officer tempted into a life of crime on demob and ultimately helped by the discarded mistress of gangland boss Griffith Jones. She's played by the stunning blonde actress Sally Gray, just then returned to movie-making following a five-year rest after suffering a breakdown due to pressure of work. She certainly had never looked more striking.
