An underrated comedy-Western, sparklingly photographed in very fresh-looking Technicolor by the great Russell Metty. Dean Martin and Alain Delon work unexpectedly well together and, although some of the gags do misfire, the film is good-humoured company throughout, director Michael Gordon achieving some great shots of horses on the run across water, as well as an amusing mock-duel sequence at the end.
