Considering the talent before and behind the cameras on this comedy about two con men trying to milk a millionaire who's actually only a poor accountant, the results should have been more than just mildly amusing. Henry Fonda and his wonderful comic timing and Gene Tierney's radiant presence can be thanked for making the film appear better than it actually is. It was the last film in a three picture deal at Fox from director Rouben Mamoulian, and suffers in comparison to his earlier The Mark of Zorro and Blood and Sand.
