Given the benefit of a handsome production which wisely sets the sleuthing in the Forties heyday of the Ellery Queen novels, plus direction by Britain's David Greene, one of the top directors of TV movies through two decades, this intriguing mystery is a lot better than most of the Ellery Queen movies from Hollywood in the Thirties and Forties. Jim Hutton and David Wayne as the father-and-son detective team, Ray Milland and Kim Hunter among a string of guest stars.
