Hitchcock-style thriller tautly turned out by director Blake Edwards in between making such comedy gems as 'Breakfast at Tiffany's' and 'The Pink Panther'. Here, he coaxes a nicely-timed performance from the young Lee Remick as a cashier menaced by a frightening, wheezy killer (a solid start to Ross Martin's film career) who is out to rob her bank. Stefanie Powers is also very good as Remick's younger sister. There's a tense climax, in a stadium, to a film that, full of edgy moments, gives the lie to those who think Edwards capable of nothing but crass comedy.
