Charlie Chaplin keeps his sunny side up for this amusing silent where he's a hotel worker so overworked that he devises a labour-saving system.
As usual, Charlie is head over heels for his (literally) dream girl Edna Purviance, and gets in a lather when a city slicker makes a play for her.
The highlights are a double dream sequence and a burlesque ballet - a tribute to the dancer Nijinsky who told Chaplin: 'Your comedy is balletic: you are a dancer! '
