The Disney Studio whipped up this Wild West yarn for kids, who'll cheer for Nick Stahl as young Daniel Hackett, bravely defending his father's homestead against nasty property developers, with Scott Glenn being particularly menacing as their ruthless leader. Stahl runs off with the deeds to the land and suddenly magically appears in the middle of a tall tale where his hero, tough guy Pecos Bill (Patrick Swayze), rounds up some other fictional characters (played by Roger Aaron Brown, Catherine O'Hara and Oliver Platt) to do battle on the boy's behalf. Mostly good fun despite a sagging mid-section. Watch for Burgess Meredith and William H Macy in tiny cameo roles.
