Maggie McNamara is fancied by young architect William Holden and older charmer David Niven. But she isn't prepared to give either wolf what he wants... This is the not-very-naughty sex comedy for which director Otto Preminger grabbed huge publicity by getting it refused a Seal of Decency in America rather than deleting such words as virgin, mistress and seduction! It did, however, herald the first signs of crumbling in the bastions of the infamous Hollywood Production Code, and marked a step forward in what the authorities considered acceptable on screen.
