Helen Hayes' second outing as Agatha Christie's spinster sleuth Miss Marple. This mystery features poisoning, embezzlement, a love triangle, a drowning and several other untimely deaths to satisfy fans of the genre. It's sad to see Bette Davis, at 74, looking frailer than ever before on film, as the intended victim of a poisoner. But then, only months before, after she'd had a stroke, doctors had said she would never work again. Subsequently, she worked on steadily until her death at 81.
