You'll get a good quota of laughs from this grey comedy (it isn't really sinister enough to be called black) about a hypochondriac (Rock Hudson) who believes, through a misunderstanding with his long-suffering doctor, that he is dying from a heart condition. Doris Day was probably the only Hollywood actress of the time who could have handled this brand of light, bright comedy-with-kinks in such expert fashion. Tony Randall is even better than usual as the inevitable sidekick of the hero, and toothsome Paul Lynde also scores as a funeral director with a lugubrious leer, giving away green stamps with his plot reservations. But the real winner is Julius Epstein's screenplay, full of funny lines and situations which enable the actors to make the most of themselves.
