A diverting Psycho-derivative from the practised pen of Jimmy Sangster and directed by Gordon Hessler, a fellow British specialist in macabre thrillers. The grim and jumpy procedings are inevitable dominated by the great Bette Davis, little associated with the genre in the Thirties, Forties and Fifties, but a notable contributor in her later years to several screen chillers.
