Any fears that this factual drama would prove to be a fast-buck rip-off of actuality are largely confounded by William A Graham's skill as a director of pacy set-pieces. Mr Graham is obviously a firm believer in tracking shots and anything else that will keep the action fluid, including getting his actors to emote while they're involved in action scenes. Thus it's not surprising that Franco Nero's terrorist is the most riveting figure in this recreation of the infamous time in 1972 when 11 members of the Israeli Olympic team were wiped out by Black September guerillas. The script is not such a winner, William Holden coping manfully with the bulk of the dialogue as the top policeman on the case.
