Never mind the plot, a frothy trifle of marital misunderstandings, just savour the teaming of Clark Gable, Jean Harlow, Myrna Loy and James Stewart, the intelligent direction by Clarence Brown and the witty dialogue exchanges supplied by Norman Krasna, Alice Duer Miller and John Lee Mahin. Gable's a publisher and Harlow his firecracker assistant, with both Loy (Gable's wife) and Stewart (Harlow's boyfriend) wrongly suspicious of the relationship. Stewart, in his fourth feature film, revelled in his scenes with Harlow. `Clarence,' he recalled, `wasn't too pleased by the way I did the smooching. He made us go over it several times. I botched it up on purpose, of course. That Jean Harlow sure was a good kisser! '
