A rare comedy role for Richard Widmark in this Gene Kelly-directed frolic about a couple trying to adopt a baby. Complications ensue, with Widmark getting involved with a glamorous `other woman' from the adoption agency, played by the late Gia Scala. Giving Widmark and Doris Day stalwart backing is Gig Young, who played the hero's friend dozens of times before his adept acting was rewarded by a 1970 Oscar for They Shoot Horses, Don't They?
