Spoof horror piece with delightful Thirties decor, a series of grisly deaths and a plot about a disfigured madman (Vincent Price) who, from the depths of his grandiose mansion, vows to kill the 10-man surgical team 'responsible' for the death of his wife.
Phibes' massive cinema organ, which graces the beginning and the end, is rather splendid and you may just recognise the delectable Caroline Munro, later a star of such action spectaculars as The Golden Voyage of Sinbad, as the dead wife he keeps preserved.
An excellent example of its type.
