We can't recall previously seeing a disclaimer on a film that 'certain events and characters have been altered to heighten dramatic effect'. It forms a disturbing coda to an allegedly true story about a house haunted by victims and killer from a previous mass murder there, and by evil spirits from a long-distant (Red Indian) past. It is certainly most persuasively done, with James Brolin and Margot Kidder suitably fraught as the young couple who do well to stay three weeks in a neighbourhood where thunder and lightning are the order of the night - quite apart from what oozes through the boards of their home.
