Not exactly a run-of-the-mill film to come across these days, this story of a wildcat Marine Flying Corps colonel and his much put-upon family, with whom he shares a strident and sometimes amusing love-loathe relationship. Director Lewis John Carlino (who also wrote the film) hasn't the know-how to extract the skilful performances, especially from the youngsters, that the film needs, although one warms to the ugly daughter (Lisa Jane Persky) who, desperate for her macho father's attention, tells him she is pregnant by a cross-eyed black pacifist.
