The unlikely team of James Cagney and Bette Davis in a comedy that could just as well have been called Headstrong Heiress. Miss Davis works hard, but is plainly not at home in such screwball stuff and after this and the Monty Woolley caper The Man Who Came To Dinner, returned to the headier realms of melodrama. It's left to Cagney and Jack Carson, reunited from The Strawberry Blonde, to raise the laughs in a romp that's consistently amusing without ever becoming uproarious.
