Odd-couple romances have generally met with less box-office success than the films themselves merited; and this microscope-close view of the affair between the neurotic, deserted Karen Black and time-and-motion-minded Michael Emil didn't get the wide showing that it deserved. Discerning audiences, however, found much to enjoy in what is director Henry Jaglom's most accessible and entertaining movie to date.
