Exciting thriller which pits Martin Sheen, as a hot-rod driver, in a duel with a small town's psychotic sheriff (played by Vic Morrow), who takes delight in forcing vehicles off the road. Sheen's real-life brother, Joe Estevez, plays his fictional brother, a recent victim of the sheriff. The excellent cast also features Nick Nolte, Stuart Margolin and Michelle Phillips. Director Richard T Heffron, whose last film was the excellent Rockford Files pilot, keeps the action taut. The climactic road race is well worth waiting for.
