Unjustly denied a cinema release in this country, this is an interesting, fast-paced urban thriller based on a book by top crime writer William P McGivern. Director Robert Butler, who has made many of the best episodes of Hill Street Blues, handles the New York locations in a colourful way and gets three stand-out performances from James Brolin (as the ex-cop desperately trying to locate his kidnapped daughter), Cliff Gorman (as the psychopathic kidnapper) and, most startling of all, Dan Hedaya (as a brutal policeman).
