The pilot episode for a bland but successful Seventies TV crime series called Switch, this tired caper is a routine crime thriller that never really takes off. It's largely sunk by its forgettable story about retired police officer Frank MacBride (Eddie Albert) enlisting the help of reformed bad boy Pete Ryan (Robert Wagner) to con villains out of their ill-gotten gains in elaborate stings. Wagner cruises by on his boyish charm, but Sharon Gless, playing a wacky character called Maggie Philbin, provides the brightest moments.
