This sequel to the 1997 Brendan Fraser hit is idiotic, but occasionally sweet. Christopher Showerman replaces Fraser as the bumbling jungle hunk. Here, his marriage is under threat thanks to a meddling mother-in-law (Christine Pickles). Visiting America to seek the advice of his friend, Ape (voiced by John Cleese), he's thrown into a world of gambling and deception at the hands of his rival (Thomas Haden Church). Self-parody helps the medicine go down in this otherwise brainless offering. Julie Benz and Angus T Jones play George's wife and son respectively.
