Downright peculiar film from Robert Altman that you will find totally compelling or heavy going according to taste. The 'plot' is about three women who metamorphose into identities other than their original ones. There is certainly more to its events than meets the eye, although quite what is sometimes hard to fathom. And everything is so stylised that the characters simply aren't believable - would people really ignore Millie (Shelley Duvall) to the extent of actually not replying when she speaks to them? - although Altman devotees aren't likely to find that a hindrance to fascination or enjoyment.
