Michael J Pollard
Born: 30 May 1939
Where: Passaic, New Jersey
Michael became a familiar face to moviegoers and television viewers in the 1960s. The stage-trained actor racked up numerous credits on and off Broadway from his 1958 debut in Comes a Day, followed by A Loss of Roses, co-starring Warren Beatty, and the musical Bye Bye Birdie.
Michael got his start in the film world in 1962 with Martin Ritt's Adventures of a Young Man, and went on to portray a number of small roles in films like The Stripper and The Wild Angels.
He received his widest exposure in Arthur Penn's Bonnie and Clyde, earning an Oscar nomination as Best Supporting Actor for his turn as the getaway-car driver.
Despite the acclaim, Michael lacked leading man qualities and except for Little Fauss and Big Halsey, he was relegated to playing supporting parts.
Among his better-known features are Melvin and Howard, Roxanne, Tango & Cash and Dick Tracy.
After working on several projects, Michael was cast as Mr. Cummings in Gavin O'Conner's drama feature Tumbleweeds, followed by roles in drama mystery Out Of The Black and the horror House of 1000 Corpses.
