Brian Dennehy produces one of his typical tough, abrasive performances in this TV movie which casts him as a father who takes matters into his own hands when his airline stewardess daughter is among hostages who become pawns in a struggle between terrorists and the governments of the US, West Germany and Britain. The result is a mayhem of revenge. The trouble here is that the plot development is too complex and characterisation weak, so that it's hard to become really involved. It's also tough to believe in Dennehy's metamorphosis from middle-America basketball coach to merciless mercenary taking on terrorists single-handed. The film's message about the issue of revenge gets lost amidst the chaos and excessive camera movement, although the final denouement is pretty exciting if you can wait that long.
