Thoroughly enjoyable and well-made real-life story of Robin Lee Graham, a 16-year-old Californian who became the youngest ever round-the-world sailor. Joseph Bottoms is likeable and credible as the intense and obsessed young man whose voyage took five years, but netted him a girl (Deborah Raffin) and his freedom during a remarkable series of adventures. Tremendous cinematography by ace Sven Nykvist makes the most of some astounding sights along the journey.
