An unashamedly old-fashioned good-versus-evil story set in the mining towns of Central Queensland. The trouble is that there is never really any doubt about the outcome, but at least it's put together well. The amusing screenplay is by the film's producer, John Dingwall, who is best known for his screenplay for Ken Hannam's 1974 drama (also about male cameraderie) 'Sunday Too Far Away'. Bruce Spence provides the comic relief (as he did in 'Mad Max II') but it is Simon Chilvers, as a newcomer who drunkenly tries to give flying lessons, who takes the acting honours.
