An altogether superior TV movie that will send shivers up your spine from the moment that Jean Mitchell (played by the Oscar-winning Cloris Leachman) discovers that her husband (Dabney Coleman) has mysteriously disappeared while in the washroom of a roadside diner. The nightmare is splendidly sustained by Richard Matheson (basing the teleplay on his own short story) and will grate on your nerves like fingernails across a blackboard. British director Philip Leacock, who won his spurs 20 years earlier on `The Brave Don't Cry' and `The Kidnappers', allows us little respite from the subsequent suspense.
