Jane (Kate & Allie) Curtin and that reliable character actor Dabney (Nine to Five) Coleman are splendidly matched as the couple in crisis in this snappy, witty and often hilarious domestic comedy-drama. In their scenes together, director Tom Moore makes the most of every look as well as every line of Janet Kovalcik's superb script. Incidentally, Kovalcik also knows how to make her characters' working lives ring true - a rare gift. The supporting players are not as strong (although Florence Stanley is excellent as Coleman's secretary) and the story creaks towards the end, but these are minor quibbles.
