Made in 1967 but not released for two years because of violence that was then considered excessive, this is part of the 'wild biker' series of movies that also included 'The Trip', 'Hell's Angels on Wheels', 'The Wild Angels' and 'Psych-Out' and reached its highpoint with 'Easy Rider'. Jack Nicholson appeared in several of these and appears here as the wildest biker of them all, complete with outlandish striped trousers and a real edge of danger. Co-stars Diane Ladd and Bruce Dern were married at the time.
