Yet another Columbo case file from the vaults, this time directed with more than a certain panache by James Frawley, whose career started at a gallop with a Best Director TV Emmy for the madcap TV series pilot The Monkees, but then failed to fully develop. On the big screen, he peaked with The Big Bus and The Muppet Movie, and here he injects some typical shafts of humour into a not particularly gripping story about a ruthless TV executive - with Peter Falk's Columbo hot on his trail.
