When student Randolph Carter (Mark Kinsey Stephenson) releases a demon trapped in a weave of tree roots, he also frees a beautiful girl (Maria Ford) whose body it had possessed and lets loose a supernatural terror. The usual stuff of horror nightmares is here in this predictable, if bloody tale. Horror fans will have seen it all before (and done better), although they'll appreciate a monster that looks like a cross between an old bat and Lady Thatcher. At least the cast keeps straight faces if not their heads and John Rhys-Davies and David Warner both have cameo roles. What are they doing in this?
