Enjoyable comedy-Western along the lines of the feature film Cat Ballou. John Astin is the villainous outlaw of the title; Dick Shawn an egotistical singing marshall trying to collar Slade; Pamela Austin a schoolteacher attempting to reform him; and Dom DeLuise a psychiatrist, also trying to steer him towards the straight and narrow. An offbeat, amusing offering, this was the second pilot to an unrealised series, Sheriff Who? , in which the regular stars were villains and the good guys and guest artists were killed off each week.
