Fresh from his triumph with the Churchill story in The Finest Hours, that industrious documentary film producer Jack Le Vien turned his attention to Edward VIII in this film. And, after a slow beginning, a compelling story begins to form. It reveals many things people may not have known about the Duke of Windsor's early days: Le Vien takes a long while to get around to the abdication but the final chapter, when it does come, is very stirring.
